I`ve made a random card just in case somebody among my friends will have BD soon:)
I tried to make the sentiment with embossing powder first but without success. I used the heat of my electrical oven because yesterday I returned the heat gun back to the store (it was broken) and hair drier wouldn`t work here I guess:) The powder (of course) was not completely melted and looked inaccurate overall, so in the second version of the card I just stamped the sentiment with white ink and used white gel pen in some places so now I like the result.

Today I met with my doctor who is leaving Toronto for South Africa in two days. She has monitored my pregnancy since the beginning till now and I hoped so much she would be with me in the hospital... Only three weeks left till the Day X when I had known about her leaving:( Now I have no idea who will be with me during the delivery (except my husband, haha). This is actually not the card but the envelope with the card inside (I don`t have a pic of it) with the small present (gift card).
I used stamp "Maisy Ketto", washi tape, pink lace from dollar store and a paper sticker. I coloured the stamp with watercolour pencils and gel pens (also I used Copic marker for skin tone). And after that I realized that I want better results and I need markers (watercolour pencils are too dull for me). So today I bought a set of 12 ShinHan Twin Touch markers. AND... I don`t like them! It seems to me I am doing something wrong but I can`t understand why they are not blending smoothly as in those videos which I watched on youtube. I was told (in the store) that I need special paper for markers (very smooth and transparent). Ok. I bought it (despite the fact that in youtube videos people use just regular paper, not transparent, obviously). But the brush strokes on that paper are just regular brush strokes! I cannot blend them in any way (even with the help of special blender). What do I do wrong??

So... I have made two new cards instead of the last one (with "congratulations"). I didn`t like the one with the yellow stripe (it looks inaccurate) so we gave to my mother-in-law the other one. Here is the version without any words, but we did write on the white stripe "happy blah-blah-blah..." in Russian:) It`s so bad there are no any stamps with Russian words and sentiments here in Canada.

March 8

I have done this card for two hours (the most difficult part was to paint flowers because they were so tiny with fine details and I am not very good at drawing and painting). I was soo happy when finished it. It was supposed to be for my mother-in-law for a holiday (which we usually celebrate in Russia. Something like "Women`s day". It is kinda stupid holiday, but our old-school parents take it seriously so it`s better not to forget it). And!... Then my husband came home, took the card and said we cannot say "congratulations" in this exact case because it sounds weird! We can say "congrats" in case when a person achieves something... not for a holiday. OMG! It doesn`t sound that way for me but... I have to redo the whole card. Now it will not take so long `coz I know what to do and how (when I think about the card, how to organize everything and so on - it also takes loong time. I am a slowpoke).
